We met through our siblings. Aldony’s brother was good friends with my sister so I knew of him but never really talked to him until I sent him a message. I told him that I thought he was super cute (cause he is ha-ha) and asked for his number. We talked for a couple days before going out on our first date. I knew pretty early that Aldony and I had something special and we talked about our future together very often. After my spring semester finished in May we decided to go on a short getaway up North to Mackinaw Island for a day but had to be back the next night for a futsal game. At the futsal game I was called down to kick the first goal in their new building. Once I kicked the ball, and scored! I heard the announcer say “your reward is Aldony Mendez” and I turned around to see Aldony walking towards me. He gave me a hug and I instantly knew he was gonna propose. I started crying as he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. That was the fastest yes I had ever said in my life. Ever since that day we have been growing together and creating such a special and loving life together!
